MerlinAt the start MERLIN (P. Trevor) jumped and veered outwards thereby cutting across RED INDIAN (J. Chinoy) who was slow to begin. Approaching 600 metres, MERLIN (P. Trevor) was observed to have lost its footing and drifted out. Thereafter, as the horse was in discomfort Jockey P. Trevor pulled up and dismounted. The Sr. V.O. reported that MERLIN (P. Trevor) stopped galloping at the 600 metres. On examination, the colt was found to have dislocated both sesamoids of left fore leg. After sedation and bandaging the leg, the colt was sent to the Equine Hospital in the Horse Ambulance for further investigation and treatment. The colt was subsequently euthanized at the Trainer’s request.
MadagascarMADAGASCAR (S. Zervan) was reluctant to be stalled. RED INDIAN (J. Chinoy) was restless in the stall and thereafter swayed its head as the start was effected thus losing about 3 lengths at the start. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to give both his charges more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. Approaching 100 metres, MADAGASCAR (S. Zervan) shifted in and went across GOLD MEDALIST (T. S. Jodha) who had to be checked. After the race on questioning, Jockey S. Zervan stated that his mount was inclined to run out in the straight and in his effort to maintain a straight course his mount shifted in. In view of the same, Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
Patriots DayAfter the race Jockey A. Sandesh (PATRIOTS DAY) reported that his mount was running green.

NightfallAt the start, NIGHTFALL (G Amit, dr. 7) jumped and carried SILVER MOON (Bhawani Singh, dr. 8) outwards. Passing 200 metres, NIGHTFALL (G. Amit) was observed to have hung out. As such, Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
AbbeyroadABBEYROAD (Kuldeep Singh) jumped out slow losing about a length at the start.

Dusky SirenAfter the race, Jockey P. Trevor reported that his mount DUSKY SIREN hung in in the last 600 metres. As such, Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.
FirenzeAfter the race, FIRENZE was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
Kodiac QueenApp. D. S. Daman was observed to have used the whip in excess of the permissible limit on his mount KODIAC QUEEN. On questioning, App. D. S. Daman stated that his mount hung out in the straight and the same was used as corrective measure. As such no action has been initiated against App. D. S. Daman. However, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

5 (262) THE PRINCE JEHAN PLATE

My HunterAt the start, POKERFACE (App. K. Nazil, dr. 5) shifted in under urgings and went across SERENO (App. H Zeeshan, dr. 4), JIMBO (Amyn Merchant, dr. 3) and WISE CHILD (A. Sandesh, dr. 2) who were inconvenienced. After the race, on questioning App. K. Nazil and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered, his Apprentice Jockey’s license has been suspended for a period of two race days i.e. 21st and 22nd April, 2018 for careless riding (permitted to ride work/Mock Race).
OracleIn the final stages of the race ORACLE (P. Trevor) shifted in and went across PRINCESS P (Dashrath Singh) and carried JUGGERNAUT (App. Raghuveer Singh) inwards. Jockey P. Trevor has been cautioned.
Wise ChildAfter the race, WISE CHILD was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
PricelessgirlSoon after the start PRICELESS GIRL (App. M. Ayyar) shifted out and made contact with PRINCESS P (Dashrath Singh), thereafter shifted in and went across ORACLE (P. Trevor) who had to be steadied App. M. Ayyar has been cautioned.

6 (263) THE REGAL EQUITY PLATE

Aurora AustralisAt the request of Trainer Hosidar Daji, AURORA AUSTRALIS was examined at 1020 hours on 30/03/2018 and was found to have abrasions on the left knee and hock and was sore by the left hind leg. As such, the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
CollegiumAfter being stalled, COLLEGIUM (R. Ajinkya) played up in the stall. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
She's A TigerPassing 1000 metres, SHE’S A TIGER (P. Trevor) shifted out and went across ADAMS BEGINNING (Kuldeep Singh) who had to be steadied.
HudsonPassing 100 metres, HUDSON (App. H. Zeeshan) shifted out and went across SASSY LASS (Amyn Merchan), who had to be steadied. An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of HUDSON (App. H. Zeeshan) and a report will be submitted shortly.
Golden WeaverApproaching 1000 metres, TALLY HO (Dashrath Singh) dropped back thereby causing GOLDEN WEAVER (App. K. Nazil) to check and change course. After the race, Jockey Dashrath Singh reported that soon after the start he found his mount uncomfortable and not striding freely and as such he had steadied him and did not ride out.
TheobromaIn the straight, THEOBROMA (Kishore Kadam), SASSY LASS (Amyn Merchant) and GOLDEN WEAVER (App. K. Nazil) were observed to have hung out. Trainers Shazaan Shah, Asad Siddiqui and Hosidar Daji have been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race their respective charge.
CeceliaAt the start CECILIA (J. Chinoy, dr. 8) jumped outwards on to GOLDEN WEAVER (App. K. Nazil, dr. 9).

ArsenalPassing the 400 metres, ARSENAL (P. Trevor) was observed to have pulled up lame. The Sr. V.O. reported that ARSENAL (P. Trevor) stopped galloping at the 400 metres. On examination, the mare was found to have damaged her right fore tendon and was sore by the right fore leg. The mare was sent to the Equine Hospital in the Horse Ambulance for further investigation and treatment. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
DibabaAt the start DIBABA (A. Sandesh, dr. 4) was observed to have lost its footing and stumbled.
Flashing HonourFLASHING HONOUR (S. Sunil) jumped out slow losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
RousseauAfter the race, ROUSSEAU was trotted and found to be sound.
