Supreme BeingSUPREME BEING (R.Shelar) refused to be stalled despite substantial efforts, as such, the gelding was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer Ivor Fernandes has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Power Of TheaAt the request of Trainer Narendra Lagad, THEA’S FIRE was examined at 1015 hours on 16/08/2019 and found to be suffering from Diarrhoea, as such, the colt was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the colt from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
PrincipessaAt the start, PRINCIPESSA (App.Aniket Karande dr.3) was observed to have brushed the gates and jumped out awkwardly. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the running and riding of PRINCIPESSA and a report will be submitted shortly. The Equine Hospital reported that PRINCIPESSA had right eye injury (sore).
SylvesterJockey Santosh .G (SYLVESTER) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. On being questioned after the race, Jockey Santosh G. stated his mount had hungin in the straight as such he had used the whip as a corrective measure. As the same was borne out on the video recording, no action has been initiated against Jockey Santosh G, however, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
Wild FlowerThe Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the poor performance of LABURNUM and a report will be submitted shortly. After the race, LABURNUM was trotted and found to be sound.

2 (41) THE HIGHLAND RULE TROPHY

Selfie StarAt the request of Trainer Dallas Todywalla, SELFIE STAR was examined at 0915 hours on 16/08/2019 and found to have swelling on the left fore fetlock, as such, the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the mare from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
FrivolousJockey Shrikant Kamble (FRIVOLOUS) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Pune Meeting, he has been fined Rs.3,000/.

3 (42) THE GREY AREA PLATE (DIV-II)

Ms BossSoon after the start, MS BOSS (A. Sandesh, dr.4) shifted in thereby inconveniencing RED CARNATION (App. P. S. Kaviraj, dr.3).
ImprovissoAt the start, IMPROVISSO (Akshay, dr.9) jumped inwards and at the same time HIGHDARE (Bhawani Singh, dr.7) jumped outwards thereby tightening SIR RAMON (App. K. Nazil, dr.8) who was marginally slow to begin. After the race, IMPROVISSO and MS BOSS were trotted and found to be sound.
Sir RamonSIR RAMON (App.K.Nazil) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

4 (43) THE DINKOO N CHENOY TROPHY
A Handicap for Horses rated 40 TO 66		 1600M

TasawwurIn the process of stalling, it was observed that TASAWWUR was bleeding from its mouth. The gelding was examined by the Club’s V.O. and found to have a Tongue injury on the right side, as such, TASAWWUR was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
KhartoumJockey Kishore Kadam (KHARTOUM) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Pune Meeting, he has been fined Rs.3,000/.
BakhtawarJockey Neeraj Rawal (BAKHTAWAR) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Pune Meeting, he has been fined Rs.3,000/.
KariegaKARIEGA (Akshay Kumar) jumped out slow losing about a length at the start. Passing 200 metres, KARIEGA (Akshay Kumar) was held up for room and had to be switched over on the outside.
Fleur De LysAfter the race, FLEUR DE LYS was found to be sound, but having a gum injury.

5 (44) THE GAEA PLATE
A Handicap for Horses rated 4 TO 30 - (4 YEARS OLD & UPWARD)		 1600M

The PieAfter the race, App. A. S. Peter (ARIZONA PIE) reported the loss of whip passing the 300 metres. On questioning, he stated that the whip had slipped out of his hand. This being his first instance during the current Pune Meeting, no action has been initiated.
Patriots DayThe Equine Hospital reported that PATRIOTS DAY had right eye injury (sore). After the race, PATRIOTS DAY, WESTERN STYLE, ARIZONA PIE and VELVET VIBES were trotted and found to be sound.

6 (45) THE UNFORGETTABLE YOU PLATE
TERMS - 3 year old maidens only		 1000M
4.00 P.M.
CelestiaCELESTIA (App.K.Nazil) planted in the stall and took no part in the race. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her in a Mock Race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.
Northern SingerThe Equine Hospital reported that NORTHERN SINGER had right eye injury (mild corneal opacity and ulcer in the right eye).
Perfectly PoisedAfter the race, PERFECTLY POISED was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
Power Of InfinityALAUDDIN KHILJI (Bhawani Singh) and NORTHERN SINGER (J.Chinoy) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths and 1 length respectively, at the start.

7 (46) THE GREY AREA PLATE (DIV-I)

Clark KentAfter being stalled, CLARK KENT (S.J.Sunil) started lashing out. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. and found to have multiple injuries on the right hind hock, as such, he was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer Nosher Cama has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. Further, the Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
Night HuntAt the request of Trainer Vishal Gaikwad, NIGHT HUNT was examined at 1645 hours on 13/08/2019 and found to be sore by the left hind leg, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
ArceliaSoon after the start, BONAFIDE (App.Gagandeep Mann) shifted in under urgings and went across ORION’S BELT (App.Raghuveer Singh) causing it to shift out, thereby starting a chain reaction, due to which SILVER FLAMES (A.Sandesh), ARTICULATE (Santosh.G), ROYAL ACE (Amyn Merchant) and CHARLES BRIDGE (App.Niranjan S.Parmar) were all forced outwards. After questioning, App.Gagandeep Mann has been fined Rs.2,000/.
AgramiApproaching 200 metres, AGRAMI (Prabhu Naidu) shifted out under urgings and went across ARTICULATE (Santosh G) who had to be steadied. Jockey Prabhu Naidu has been cautioned.
Orion's BeltAt the start, ORION’S BELT (App.Raghuveer Singh, dr.2) jumped outwards and at the same time ARTICULATE (Santosh.G, dr.4) jumped inwards thereby tightening SILVER FLAMES (A.Sandesh, dr.3). After the race, ORION’S BELT was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
Chosen One CHOSEN ONE (C.S.Jodha) jumped out slow losing about a length at the start.
