ModificationMODIFICATION (A Ashhad Asbar) arrived late to the start thereby delaying the proceedings of the race. Tr. Rutherford Alford was advised to ensure that his charge arrives on time in future.
All RounderJockey Hindu Singh, the rider of ALL ROUNDER (Drawn. 8), was fined a sum of Rs. 2,500/ for shifting ‘in’ soon after the start causing interference to IVY (Arshad Alam, Drawn. 7).
MonacoApproaching the 800 metres MONACO (App P Vikram) travelling along the rails shifted ‘outwards’ causing interference to OUTRIDER (A Imran Khan) and ALL ROUNDER (Hindu Singh). At a subsequent enquiry App P Vikram was shown the CCTV replay of the race and fined a sum of Rs. 2,500/ for shifting ground for no apparent reasons.
Salvatore MundiSALVATORE MUNDI (App Ranidan Singh) was fractious while being stalled.
Dancing PrinceJockey Md Imran, the rider of DANCING PRINCE (Drawn. 5) was fined a sum of Rs. 2,500/ for preventing his mount from taking an advantageous position soon after the start thereby unnecessarily restricting it from running freely.

Glorious RunGLORIOUS RUN (Shezad Khan) was permitted to be withdrawn.
NamchaNAMCHA (S John, dr. 4) jumped awkwardly ‘outwards’ from the gates carrying HEADING GLORY (A Ashhad Asbar, dr. 6) further ‘outwards’. This incident caused HEADING GLORY to be placed in a disadvantageous position resulting in the colt finishing last. Tr. Vijay Singh was advised to give his charge NAMCHA adequate gate practice before accepting with it again.
Rolly PollyROLLY POLLY (Afzal Khan) and MY LADY LUCK (Md Imran) were fractious while being stalled.
Carpe NoctemCARPE NOCTEM (App Nikhil Naidu) fly jumped from the gates.

3 (27) THE FLY LIKE THE WIND PLATE

Gift Of ValentineThe surcingle used on b g GIFT OF VALENTINE broke after the gelding was loaded into its stall. As there was insufficient time to replace the equipment, the gelding was withdrawn before coming under Starter’s orders.
Alishas PetThe Stipendiary Stewards interviewed Mr. Patrick Quinn and Jockey Afzal Khan, the trainer and rider of b m ALISHAS PET and conveyed their displeasure in the performance of the mare. Both the Trainer and the Jockey were once again reminded that their charges should run and be ridden in such manner that leaves no room for query.
Simran's ChoiceSIMRAN’S CHOICE (Vinay Jaiswal), KNIGHTHOOD (Arshad Alam), SPORTING TRAINER (App P Vikram) and ALIEN (I Khan) were slow to begin.
BulgerianBULGERIAN (App Nikhil Naidu) and COCOANUT (App Rupal Singh) were fractious in their respective stalls.

5 (29) THE WHEELS HANDICAP

Running Handb c RUNNING HAND, a declared starter in the above race, was examined by the Veterinary Officer on the morning of Saturday, 25th November, 2017 and found to be lame on left hind. Under the circumstances the colt was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds. Tr. J E Mckeown was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
SummerhillWhen given an opportunity to explain the improved performance of his charge SUMMER HILL as compared to its previous run in Race No. 118 of the just concluded Calcutta Monsoon Meeting 2017, Tr. Patrick Quinn stated that the gelding which had run on two occasions during that season, had bled from its nostrils on the first occasion. Subsequently in its 2nd race i.e., in Race No. 118 when allowed to run after passing a veterinary test it had performed poorly. However, with the change of the track conditions and further improvement in the gelding’s medical condition it performed well. He further stated that the gelding was not at all fancied by the stable. His explanations were noted.
JupiterJUPITER (App Nikhil Naidu) was extremely fractious while being stalled. In view of its behaviour Tr. Vikash Jaiswal was advised not to accept with his charge until shown to the satisfaction of the Starter in a barrier trial during the hours of morning track work.
ApalacheeTr. Patrick Quinn and Jockey S John were interviewed regarding the running and riding of b c APALACHEE in the race. The Jockey stated that he was instructed to place his mount in a favourable position and give the colt every chance. However his mount was not galloping at any stage of the race despite his best efforts. Tr. Patrick Quinn when queried stated that he could give no plausible explanation for the poor performance except that it had performed well when running over distances of 1100 metres and 1200 metres and was now running over 1400 metres. Their explanations were noted.
City HeightsThe Veterinary Officer reported that CITY HEIGHTS returned with a cut injury on right fore.
The Big BullTHE BIG BULL (Jugnu Gurung), SUMMERHILL (Arshad Alam) and MAJESTIC (App Ranidan Singh) were slow to begin.
