Two of his best performances came against 2011 champion male turf runner Cape Blanco . Dean’s Kitten was beaten a nose by Cape Blanco in last year’s Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Invitational Stakes (gr. IT). In the Arlington Million Stakes (gr. IT) last summer, Dean’s Kitten finished third behind Cape Blanco and three-time champion Gio Ponti .
Sohna Stud Farm has had a glorious success in the last decade through progeny of pregnant mares mostly brought from Goff’s breeding sale. Sultan Singh, the promoter of Sohna Stud Farm, bought big from Goff’s and has had remarkable success through these purchases which put his stud farm in the elite league. Jacqueline (King Charlemagne) who won four Indian classics in a row including the Indian Derby, Becket (Hawk Wing), winner of the Gr 1 Indian Turf Invitation Cup, Velvet Rope (Turtle Island), winner of Gr 1 Indian Derby, Versaki, winner of Gr 1 Poonawalla Breeders’ Multi-Million and Gr 1 Nanoli Stud Pune Derby were also through pregnant mares purchased from Ireland. Noverre was expected to have a big say in Indian racing but he had only a short stint. From his first crop, he had two Group I winners through Hachiko, winner of Gr 1 Poonawalla Multi-Million and Commander, winner of Group 1 Nanoli Stud Pune Derby.
Dean’s Kitten has already arrived in India and is at the quarantine yard and will move to the stud farm shortly to start his career in the stud farm in the month of April.
