Black Magic (Pawan Sharma) won the Lala Bansidhar Gupta & Brij Mohan Gupta Memorial Million over 1400 metres, a Terms event for 3-years-old only, the feature of the Delhi races on Friday. The 15 to 1 shot by EPICENTRE(USA) - TIANA raced alongside Mister Sexy, Harmonic, the odds-on favourite Wild Coco and Just Gold till the final bend. Black Magic surged ahead as they came into view with Wild Coco also making the bid five wide. As one expected Wild Coco to quicken, it was Black Magic who did so to the shock of all and sundry. The Magan Singh ward cast a spell and raced away to victory. Master Cristiano came up from far back to take the second spot on the rails with Wild Coco, rather intriguingly ridden by Shrikant Kamble, a poor third. Master Novak was withdrawn.

Magan Singh began the day by winning with the Ballo Plate over 1200 metres for horses rated 1 to 26 as his ward Shiva's Soldier (G. Shekhawat) justified favouritism with a start to finish victory. He cut across the improving Flashforward twice in the straight but there was no objection nor a Stewards' enquiry into it. After all everyone seemed to have backed the favourite and so there was no crowd trouble either. Fuel came from far back to be a notable third.

Debutant Ashwa Sonkia hit the front and looked like staying there but jockey R. Parvesh unbalanced the horse as it veered out and then again drifted in. Favourite Inazuma (Shrikant Kamble) racing second all along went ahead and held on to win the Dance Away Plate over 1100 metres for Maiden Indian horses 3-years-old only. Rock With Me was third ahead of Sang Bleu while Sun Flag and Bhitski were withdrawn.

The Dashmesh And Hargovind Stud & Livestock Farm Cup over 1100 metres for horses rated 20 to 46 saw the 25 to 1 shot Global Wind (A. Waheed) sprout a pair of wings and make every post a winning one. The GREENSMITH(GB) - FORTUNE RING had shed a lot of weight but had not performed well at all and was consequently ignored. Joint favourite Golden was second ahead of Seven Eight Six and Invisible Breathe. Anarkali was slowly off.

Favourite Lucky (Sameer Khan) dashed off from no 3 draw and was not headed to claim the Ilheus Plate over 1100 metres for horses rated 80 & Above. The ELJOHAR(IRE) - LUCKY MINING won comfortably with Mister India and Master Nadal on board.

Punters were in for another shock in the Homeward Bound Ii Plate over 1400 metres for horses rated 40 to 66. Attitude hit the front and set a fast pace. The 10 to 1 shot El Sharara (Danish Ali) tracked the leader and passed him at the final bend. Once the purple and white jacket of the jockey was seen in front, the race was over and the CLASSIC TALE(GB) - WHISTLING SPORT progeny scored a long overdue success. Attitude, Dimple and Fast And Furious ended behind in that order. Favourite Super Select was not sighted at the busy end.
