The curtains came down on the winter season on Wednesday at Malakpet, with punters bearing the brunt of the extended race day which in hindsight appeared to have been framed to help bookmakers add icing on their cake. Prasad Raju, Imran Khan emerge on top
Hurricane Bay recorded a hard-fought win and his victory not only brought cheer to his trainer Prasad Raju but also ensured that he built an unassailable lead of two points which enabled him to hold his sway over the trainers’ championships at Malakpet on Wednesday. Leo D’Silva, who had monopolized the championship for a number of years, fell short by two points as he had a record number of horses running second best.
