Jockey Hindu Singh, the rider of FREE SPIRITED, reported that his mount was hanging ‘in’ from about the final bend and during the concluding stages of the race. The Veterinary Officer reported that FREE SPIRITED returned bleeding from its nostrils. Tr. Vijay Singh was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

 An enquiry has been opened into the running and riding of SEASKY, trained by Mr. H S Bath and ridden by Jockey Sameer Khan, with particular reference to the way the filly was ridden.

 Jockey Shailesh Shinde, the rider of APPRECIATE, reported that his mount ‘grabbed the bit’ and took off in spite of his best efforts, running contrary to what he was instructed to do, resulting in the filly having nothing to offer in the straight. Tr. Ms. Arti Doctor was advised to take appropriate remedial measures.

 LIGHTINTHESKY (Afzal Khan) which was slow to begin, trailed the field from the final bend and finished the race detached. Tr C Alford was advised not to accept with his charge until it was capable of a better performance. ARROW (App Rupal Singh, drawn 3) and LIGHTINTHESKY (Afzal Khan, drawn 4) made contact with each other soon after the start.

 EMBER GLOW (App Rupal Singh, drawn 3) and ROMAN (Hindu Singh, drawn 1) received interference when INDIAN TIGER (Vinay Jaiswal, drawn 4) came ‘in’ sharply soon after the start. At a subsequent enquiry Jockey Vinay Jaiswal was shown the CCTV replay of the race and fined a sum of Rs. 2,500/ for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 SCRIPT (App Prathvi Singh) was slow to begin. Tr. Shyam S Habbu and App Prathvi Singh when afforded an opportunity to explain the running and riding of b g SCRIPT, the Trainer stated that he had instructed the Apprentice to settle his mount in 4th, 5th or 6th position on jumping out from the gates and to do his best in the straight. However, he was of the opinion that the Apprentice failed to follow his instructions and he should have been more vigorous in his riding. The Apprentice corroborated the Trainer’s instructions but failed to give any plausible explanation for his poor riding. The Stipendiary Steward not being satisfied with the explanation of the apprentice, advised Tr. Javed Khan, the Master trainer of App Prathvi Singh, not to declare the apprentice in races until permitted by the Stipendiary Steward.
