Excellent AbilityAn enquiry has been opened into the breach in the conditions of the above race by Tr. D Byramji in that he declared Jockey S A Desouza, a foreign national, on his charge b m EXCELLENT ABILITY. Further, the Stewards have taken cognizance of the objection raised after the ‘all clear’ signal was given by the owner of the 2nd placed horse SECRET WHISPERS against the winner, for the above anomaly. The result of the enquiry and the decision of the Stewards in respect to the objection will be announced in due course.
Secret WhispersAt the conclusion of an enquiry into the objection raised by the Owners of ch c SECRET WHISPERS placed 2nd by the Judge against b m EXCELLENT ABILITY placed 1st by the Judge on the grounds that Jockey S A Desouza, a foreign national the rider of EXCELLENT ABILITY was not eligible to participate in this race as per the conditions of the race, the Stewards upheld the objection and ordered the disqualification of b m EXCELLENT ABILITY and revised the order of Judge’s placings as under : SECRET WHISPERS 1st, PARTY CELEBRATION 2nd, INNOVATOR 3rd, FLASHING FLAME 4th Further, the Stewards fined trainer Mr. D Byramji a sum of Rs. 5,000/ (as per the Calendar Notification) for breeching the condition of the above race by declaring a jockey of foreign nationality in a race to be ridden by jockeys of Indian Nationality.

A Handicap for Horses rated 20 TO 50 - (5 YEARS OLD & UPWARD)		 1200M
Bravo ItalianoApproaching the 300 metres LEOPARDINO (Nirmal Jodha) was checked by its rider and lost some ground when BRAVO ITALIANO (Vinay Jaiswal) shifted ‘outwards’. Jockey Vinay Jaiswal was shown the CCTV replay of the race and reprimanded for shifting ground when not adequately clear of the other runner.
Desire To DazzleDESIRE TO DAZZLE (N Akhtar) was slow to begin.
Blazing AngelBLAZING ANGEL (A Imran Khan) was very fractious in its stall. BLAZING ANGEL was examined by the Sr. Veterinary Officer after the race and found to have sustained bleeding cut injury on right fore.
Royal ScandalJockey Salim Khan, the rider of ROYAL SCANDAL, was fined a sum of Rs. 500/ for the indifferent handling of his mount in the final 400 metres of the race.

Sense Of StyleApproaching the 800 metres b g SENSE OF STYLE (Vinay Jaiswal) was eased up by its jockey and brought to a halt. ENZO (C Rajendra) travelling directly behind had to be checked by its rider and lost considerable ground to avoid running onto the heels of SENSE OF STYLE. On immediate veterinary examination of SENSE OF STYLE, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding had sustained a suspected fracture in the left fore fetlock joint. Tr. Vikash Jaiswal was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Sr. Veterinary Officer.
Big ThrillzAt the request of Tr. J Stephens, b rig BIG THRILLZ declared to run in the above race was examined by the Sr. Veterinary Officer on the morning of Thursday, 21st January, 2010 and found to be lame on left fore. Under the circumstances BIG THRILLZ was withdrawn on veterinary ground. Tr. J Stephens was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Sr. Veterinary Officer.
Asiatic BoyASIATIC BOY (A Imran Khan) was fractious while being stalled. Jockey A Imran Khan, the rider of ASIATIC BOY, when questioned regarding the performance of his mount, stated that he was instructed to place his mount in 3rd/4th position but due to the inconvenience he encountered soon after jumping out of gates he had to place his mount under early pressure to make up the lost ground. Thereafter in the concluding stages of the race the gelding had no more to give and petered out. He further stated that in his opinion the gelding required this run and should perform better in its next outing. His explanation was noted.

Agios NikolaosAt the request of Tr. Bharath Singh, b g AGIOS NIKOLAOS declared to run in the above race was examined by the Sr. Veterinary Officer on the morning of Friday, 22nd January, 2010 and found to be suffering from a painful capped elbow on left fore. Under the circumstances the gelding was withdrawn on veterinary ground. Tr. Bharath Singh was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Sr. Veterinary Officer.
EntrepreneurJockey M Reuben, the rider of ENTREPRENEUR, was fined a sum of Rs. 1,000/ for excessive use of the whip (1st offence). An enquiry has been opened into the improved performance of b g ENTREPRENEUR, trained by Mr. J J Stephens and ridden by Jockey M Reuben.
CycladesApp Md. Sameer, the rider of CHARDIN, was reprimanded for the indifferent handling of his mount in the early and middle stages of the race. CYCLADES (Imran Khan) was denied a clear run approaching the distance post.
Good Time SallyGOOD TIME SALLY (I Chisty) was slow to begin.

DybbukThe Sr. Veterinary Officer reported that DYBBUK (Neeraj Rawal) returned lame on right fore. Tr. Vinayak was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Sr. Veterinary Officer.
Anastasia(O)ANASTASIA (C Ruzaan) was very fractious while being stalled. Tr. P Shroff was advised to give his charge adequate gate practice before accepting with it again.
Duke Of WindsorDUKE OF WINDSOR (App Amandeep Singh) fly jumped out of the gates.
Generous ThoughtApproaching the 800 metres GENEROUS THOUGHT (Nirmal Jodha) was checked by its rider when MOMENT OF LOVE (Afzal Khan) momentarily shifted ‘inwards’.
Italian StarApproaching the 800 metres GENEROUS THOUGHT (Nirmal Jodha) was checked by its rider when MOMENT OF LOVE (Afzal Khan) momentarily shifted ‘inwards’.
QuaoarQUAOAR (App Mohit Singh) was slow to begin.
CarmenCARMEN (Imran Khan) was fractious while being stalled. When questioned regarding the performance of his mount CARMEN, Jockey Imran Khan stated that he was instructed to lead the field which he was able to do till approaching the 600 metres thereafter the filly dropped back gradually and finished the race in the rear. The filly was impounded for veterinary examination. At a subsequent examination, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported that no external ailment was noticed. Tr. Sarfaraz Khan deputising for Tr. Shafiq Khan was advised to keep his charge under observation and report ailment, if any.

7 (111) THE CALCUTTA CHAMPIONS’ SPRINT TROPHY (GR.3)
TERMS - 4 YEARS OLD & UPWARD		 1200M
IkariaUnder pressure in the final stages of the race, IKARIA (C Ruzaan) shifted ‘inwards’ and bumped TOP OF THE CLASS (A Imran Khan) passing the winning post.
Top Of The ClassFor failing to declare the weight on his charge TOP OF THE CLASS, Tr. R R Byramji was fined a sum of Rs. 500/.
Solid SuccessJockey D K Ashish, the rider of SOLID SUCCESS, reported that his mount was denied a clear run while rounding the bend.
Impressive WishFor declaring the wrong weight on her charge IMPRESSIVE WISH, trainer Ms. Arti Doctor was fined a sum of Rs. 500/.
Conquering LoveFor failing to declare the weights on his charges CONQUERING LOVE and RIMPUCHE, Tr. D Byramji was fined a sum of Rs. 1,000/.

8 (112) THE ARTWORK HANDICAP
A Handicap for Horses rated 40 TO 70 - (5 YEARS OLD & UPWARD)		 1200M
AbayaABAYA (S Domingo) was fractious while being stalled and jumped awkwardly ‘outwards’ from the starting gates.
RebelliousJockey M Reuben, the rider of REBELLIOUS, when questioned regarding the performance of his mount, stated that he was inconvenienced at the start and then was unable to make progress in the middle stages due to a tightly packed field. Thereafter, in the final stages of the race his mount accelerated exceedingly well and he was of the opinion that if not for the inconvenience received in the early stages of the race his mount would have performed far better.
CromwellApp Sk Israil, the rider of CROMWELL (drawn 12), was severely reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift ‘in’ soon after the start and inconvenience SUPREME ATTRACTION (App Vikash Tamang, drawn 11) and REBELLIOUS (M Reuben, drawn 10).
Supreme Attraction(oSUPREME ATTRACTION (App Vikash Tamang) was carried wide without cover by MAGIC SPELL (Nirmal Jodha) approaching the 900 metres.
