A Handicap for Horses rated 0 TO 26 - (4 years old only)		 1000M

Sunburst(O)SUNBURST (Malcolm Kharadi) was reluctant to be stalled. Tr.Vinayak has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and to show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Rule Of Law (O)RULE OF LAW (Y.S.Srinath) lugged in during the race, wherein soon after the start RULE OF LAW shifted in and made contact with BOLD ACT (Aadesh Kumar) who in turn went onto SUNBURST (Malcolm Kharadi) and then near 800 meters made contact with HIGHLAND VISION (Daniel M.Grant) and again near 300 metres shifted in on to LAST NIGHTS SONNET (T.S.Jodha). Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the filly in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards before next accepting to race.
Ashwa PraharAfter the race, SARJERAO was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Clubs VO before next accepting to race.
SalawatiSALAWATI (V.Kotwal) was slow in the stride, losing about 2 lengths at the start.

2 (172) THE MADRAS RACE CLUB TROPHY

SkywardsNear 1000 metres, SKYWARDS (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in and made contact with AGHA (Aadesh Kumar). Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.
Desert DustJockey Imran Chisty (DESERT DUST) reported that the bit slipped to the right side near about 1400 meters when his mount threw its head up as he tried to settle the horse.

3 (173) THE KEJRIWAL TROPHY

RecardoJockey Neeraj Rawal (RECARDO) reported loss of whip near 300 meters. The Jockey explained that his whip hit the hind quarters of ROSE BOWL (Imran Chisty) who was in close proximity on his inside.
Rose BowlJockey Imran Chisty (ROSE BOWL) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift out under the use of the whip in the straight.

Step By StepJockey Imran Chisty (STEP BY STEP) has been cautioned for shifting out under the use of the whip in the final stages of the race.
NoniosThe Stewards directed the Stipendiary Stewards to enquire into the running and riding of NONIOS and to submit a report.
Glory Of LoveGLORY OF LOVE (Dashrath Singh, dr.7) jumped out awkwardly towards the inside and caused THE FIRST LADY (V Kotwal, dr.6) to shift in and was tightened onto NONIOS (J.E. Pereira, dr.5). Near 800 metres, GLORY OF LOVE (Dashrath Singh) shied away and shifted in as BAY DESTINY (App Shammi Khan) joined GLORY OF LOVE (Dashrath Singh) on its outside, as a result NONIOS (JE Pereira) who was racing on the inside of GLORY OF LOVE (Dashrath Singh) received interference. Since the incident was accidental, no action has been initiated against anyone.
Mrs JonesAfter the race, MRS JONES was found to be sore by the left fore leg. Also, the filly had a wolf tooth on the left side of her mouth. The filly has to be passed fit by the Clubs VO before next accepting to race.
Bay DestinyAfter the race, BAY DESTINY & RUBAIYAT were observed to have broken a blood vessel and are not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Clubs VO before next accepting to race.
The First LadyJockey V.Kotwal (THE FIRST LADY) reported that after 800 metres the bridle on his mount was displaced as he tried to control his mount who was inclined to lug in and he could not do justice to his mount. Trainer Faisal A Abbas has been fined Rs.2000/.

5 (175) THE COLE GOLD TROPHY (DIV-I)
A Handicap for Horses rated 20 TO 46		 1200M
4.00 P.M.
StefanoTrainer HJ Antia has been fined Rs.5000/ for failing to declare his charge STEFANO.
Lucky HoneyAfter the race, LUCKY HONEY was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Clubs VO before next accepting to race.
The Right ManTHE RIGHT MAN (J.E.Pereira) hesitated on jump out and lost about 5 lengths at the start. Tr.Sangramsinh N.Joshi has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and to show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race.

6 (176) THE SHAPOORJI PALLONJI BREEDERS` JUVENILE COLTS CHAMPIONSHIP (GR. 3)

SpearheadAfter the race, SPEARHEAD was found to have an abrasion on the left hind fetlock.
ClasservilleThe Stewards directed the Stipendiary Stewards to enquire into the running and riding of CLASSERVILLE in this race and to submit a report.
Sea SparrowSEA SPARROW (Y.S.Srinath) played up after being stalled. The gelding was examined by the Clubs Sr.V.O. who certified him fit to race.
Supreme EmperorSUPREME EMPEROR (B.Prakash) was placed fifth and CAMBIASSO (M.Narredu) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

7 (177) THE GREATER MUMBAI POLICE TROPHY

GeneralissimoGENERALISSIMO (Satish Nayak) hungin in the straight. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding. Jockey Satish Nayak (GENERALISSIMO) reported the loss of his whip near 350 metres. This being the second occasion the Jockey reported the loss of whip during the current Mumbai Meeting, he has been fined Rs.1000/.
Beau MondeAfter the race, BEAU MONDE was observed to have lost both fore plates.

8 (178) THE FORBES BREEDERS` JUVENILE FILLIES CHAMPIONSHIP (GR. 3)

5.30 P.M.
Astral FlashNear 400 meters, ASTRAL FLASH (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out and bored SEA QUEEN (Y.S. Srinath) in an effort to make room for himself. Traveling some distance further HARMONICA (C Rajendra) shifted in and went across RIVER BLOSSOM (Daniel M Grant) who was steadied and had to shift out to make his move and in the process went on to ASTRAL FLASH (Neeraj Rawal) who in turn jostled with SEA QUEEN (Y.S. Srinath). Both Jockeys, Neeraj Rawal and C Rajendra, have been fined Rs.3000/ each for failing to exercise proper control over their respective mounts.
River BlossomRIVER BLOSSOM (Daniel M.Grant) was placed fifth and SEA QUEEN (Y.S.Srinath) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.
Rokeby VenusAt the start, ROCKEBY VENUS (M Narredu) tried to veer to the outside.

9 (179) THE WESTERN INDIA RACE HORSE OWNERS` ASSOCIATION TROPHY
TERMS - 4 YEARS OLD & UPWARD		 1200M

Pepe JuniorJockey Daniel M Grant (PEPE JUNIOR) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift out in the final stages.
ShyboyAt the start, SHYBOY (Dashrath Singh, dr.2) shifted out and went on to PEPE JUNIOR (Daniel M Grant, dr.3) which caused a chain reaction, in that, PEPE JUNIOR went on to PORTRUSH (CS Jodha, dr.4) who in turn went on to ELMWOOD (Aadesh Kumar, dr.5). The incident was accidental, no action was initiated.
Lago MedioLAGO MEDIO (Imran Chisty) luggedout during the race. Trainer Faisal A Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
PortrushAfter the race, PORTRUSH was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 8 weeks (second time bleeder). The gelding has to be passed fit by the Clubs VO before next accepting to race.

NuncioAt the request of Trainer H.J.Antia, NUNCIO was examined on 02/04/2009 at 1200 hours and was found to have hoof crack and bleeding of the left fore limb, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and hence was withdrawn on veterinary grounds.
TembungAt the request of Trainer Faisal A.Abbas, TEMBUNG was examined on 03/04/2009 at 0730 hours and was found to have fever, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and hence was withdrawn on veterinary grounds.
SolskjaerJockey J.E. Pereira (SOLSKJAER) reported the loss of his whip 100 metres from the winning post. This being the second occasion the Jockey reported the loss of whip during the current Mumbai Meeting, he has been fined Rs.1000/.
Adams LawJockey Dashrath Singh (ADAMS LAW) has been fined Rs.3000/ for improper use of the whip wherein his mount shifted in and jostled with UPROAR (R Shelar).
King's TroopThe saddle on KINGS TROOP (R Rupesh) was observed to have slipped back during the race. Trainer Anil Kumar has been fined Rs.2000/ for faulty saddling his charge.
Rave OnAt the start, RAVE ON (S.P. Ranjane, dr1) shifted out and went on to BOLD BABE (Y.S. Srinath, dr.2) who in turn went on to CLAS (Neeraj Rawal, dr.3). Jockey S.P.Ranjane has been asked to be more careful at the Gates in future.
