SolorSOLOR (M. Narredu) hung out under pressure. Trainer Nina M. Lalvani has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
RattleRATTLE (Vikash Naiko) was inconvenienced on a couple of occasions in the straight whereby the Jockey had to change course.
Ashwa SaballAIMING HIGH (C.S. Jodha) was restless in its Stall and reared up as the start was affected losing ground at the start. Trainer Uday Bhan Singh has been asked to give the gelding more Gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race.

2 (155) THE LT. COL. GOVIND SINGH VRC TROPHY

Anastasia(O)Jockey NG McCullagh (ANASTASIA) was observed to have used his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. The Jockey explained that when he used the whip for the first time, his mount shifted in and he used the whip a couple of times to strengthen her. The matter was reported to the Stewards. The consideration of the matter was deferred to the next meeting.
Moon FlowerJockey M Narredu (MOON FLOWER) has been fined Rs.3,000/ for using the whip in excessive of the prescribed limit on his mount.
River GloryTrainer S.K. Sunderji and Jockey Daniel M Grant were questioned with regard to the running and riding of RIVER GLORY. Trainer Sunderji was informed that the odds had drifted on this horse and it followed up with the poor performance of the horse with the jockey not using the whip at all. The Trainer stated that the Jockey was retained by the owners and he had not given any specific instructions except telling him to judge and ride his own race. He said that Jockey Daniel M.Grant had ridden the horse in the morning work and the filly had worked decently well. He opined that the horse was bunched up in the early part, ran unsettled and very green and looking at the way she had raced, she may need a pair of blinkers. He added that the filly is still immature and had run erratically in the straight. Trainer Sunderji added that he did not like the fillys run in the previous race over 1200 metres and hence had run her over 1400 meters this time. Jockey Daniel M.Grant said that he had advised the Trainer after the race to give the filly more time. He said that he had not used his whip but it could not have made a difference and he had ridden the filly out hands and heel. The explanation was noted. After the race, RIVER GLORY was found to have an abrasion on the left cannon and NOTABILITY was found to have wolf tooth on both sides of its mouth.
ArianePassing the 1000 metres, ARIANE (J. Pradeep) shifted in and inconvenienced DIVINE MAJESTY (Dashrath Singh). Traveling some distance further, NOTABILITY (B Prakash) was steadied and in the process shifted out and made contact with DIVINE MAJESTY who was steadied and in the process lost position. Since the incident was accidental, no action was initiated in the matter.
DhrupadDHRUPAD (Nirmal Jodha, dr.5) jumped out awkwardly towards the inside and at the same time ANASTASIA (N.G. McCullagh, dr.4) shifted out and made contact with each other.

3 (156) THE P.D. AVASIA TROPHY
A Handicap for Horses rated 60 TO 86 - (5 YEARS OLD & UPWARD)		 1000M

RococoThe Senior Veterinary Officer reported that ROCOCO was accepted to run when 10 days had not passed after having gone through the Shock Wave Therapy. As such, the gelding was not permitted to race and Trainer Uday Bhan Singh was reported to the Stewards. The Stewards interviewed Trainer Uday Bhan Singh and decided to fine him a sum of Rs.10,000/ for his lapse.
Dynamic CatAt the request of Trainer C.D. Katrak, DYNAMIC CAT was examined by the Clubs Sr.V.O. at 0730 hours on 28th March, 2009 and was found to be sore by the right fore leg as such the horse was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The horse has to be passed fit by the Clubs VO before next accepting to race.
Premier PerceptionAfter the race, PREMIER PERCEPTION was found to have wolf tooth on the right side of her mouth.
WafadarAfter the race, WAFADAR was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of eight weeks (second time bleeder). The gelding has to be passed fit by the Clubs VO before next accepting to race.

4 (157) THE NAIADE RESORTS MAURITIUS CUP

ArtsJockey C Rajendra (ARTS) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. Since the colt was luggingout in the straight and the whip was used as a corrective measure, no action has been initiated against the Jockey. However, Trainer C.D.Katrak has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.
TriganceJockey Vikash Naiko (TRIGANCE) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift out in the final furlong.
Captain SmartSoon after the start, Jockey Dashrath Singh (CAPTAINS SMART) used his whip with his left hand as his mount was drifting in as such he has been reprimanded. CAPTAINS SMART (Dashrath Singh) hungin during the race and ARTS (C Rajendra) was inclined to lugout in the straight. Trainers Magansingh P Jodha and C.D. Katrak have been asked to take remedial measures with their respective charges before next accepting to race.

5 (158) THE MAURITIUS TOURISM CUP

Catalyst(O)Jockey David Allan (CATALYST) has been cautioned for using his whip with his right hand as his mount was shifting out in the final stages.
Salve ReginaAfter the race, SALVE REGINA was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Clubs VO before next accepting to race.
Go Guzzi GoPassing 400 meters, GO GUZZI GO (Y.S.Srinath) shifted out and forced TRUE ELEGANCE (Imran Chisty) to travel wide. Jockey Y.S. Srinath has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

6 (159) THE E.A.T. TROPHY

GanadorOn arrival at the Starting Gates, GANADOR (Nirmal Jodha) was examined by the Clubs Sr.V.O. and found to be sore by the right fore leg. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn before coming under the Starters Order. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Clubs VO before next accepting to race.
Refuse To BendREFUSE TO BEND (R Rupesh) was slowly away losing about 2 lengths at the start. After the race, REFUSE TO BEND and RAIBA were both found to be sore by the right fore leg. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Clubs VO before next accepting to race.

Final AttackSIR TAJ (J.Chinoy) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Shanghai GalJockey Nirmal Jodha (SHANGHAI GAL) has been cautioned for shifting course in the straight.

8 (161) THE HDIL INDIAN OAKS (GR. 1)

RiyasatRIYASAT (Y.S.Srinath) lugged out under pressure in the straight. Trainer C.D. Katrak has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
NoraJockey Daniel M Grant (NORA) has been fined Rs.3000/ for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
AttractressATTRACTRESS ((Imran Chisty) was placed fifth and CONGRATS (Harish) was placed sixth by the Judge.
PhenomenaleJockey M.Narredu (PHENOMENALE) reported that his mount hung out in the straight. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

9 (162) THE TRICUMDAS DWARKADAS TROPHY
A Handicap for Horses rated 20 TO 46 - (4 years old only)		 1000M

Hidden DangerOn arrival at the Starting Gates, RUBIDIUM and HIDDEN DANGER were examined by the Clubs Sr.V.O. and were found to be sore by the right fore leg. As such, both the horses were certified unfit to race and were withdrawn before coming under the Starters Order. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Clubs V.O. before next accepting to race.
Arabian RockJockey S.K. Jadhav (SHODAAN) has been fined Rs.1000/ for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount and has been fined a further sum of Rs.2000/ for improper use of the whip.
Hava NagilaHAVA NAGILA (App.Shammi Khan), DAFFODILS (M.Narredu) and IN FLIGHT (Vikram Jodha) were slow in the strides, losing about 4 lengths each at the start. After the race, HAVA NAGILA was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Clubs VO before next accepting to race.

10 (163) THE BYCULLA CLUB TROPHY
TERMS - 4 YEARS OLD & UPWARD		 2800M
6.15 P.M.
Silver TernSILVER TERN (Daniel M.Grant) planted in its Stall and had to be assisted out of the stall as the Gates had to be moved out of the Track. Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the gelding in a Mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter before next accepting to race.
