Lone TrojanJockey SS Baria (LONE TROJAN) has been fined Rs.1000/ for using his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
Musical RhythmMUSICAL RHYTHM (Dashrath Singh) hung out in the straight. Trainer Magansingh P Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race.
Forest NativeJockey S Shiva Kumar was questioned regarding his riding on FOREST NATIVE. The Jockey explained that he was instructed to be in 2nd or 3rd and to do his best. He added that when he had straightened for home his mount was inclined to lug in and also there was a gap on the inside of LONE TROJAN and he went for the gap and intended to ride along the rails but when he saw LONE TROJAN shifting in and its Jockey was using the whip in left hand so he pulled his horse out and rode out. Trainer Narendra Lagad stated that the Jockey should have taken the gap but later on concurred with the Jockey. The explanation of the Jockey was accepted.
Elementto CodeAfter the race ELEMENTTO CODE was found to be short by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. After the race, ELEMENTTO CODE was found to have lost its right fore plate, ETERNAL FLIGHT lost its left fore plate and LONE TROJAN lost its right hind plate.
Eternal FlightSoon after the start, ETERNAL FLIGHT (AR Mani) shifted in due to which LONE TROJAN (SS Baria) shifted in and in turn went across QUAND MEME (HG Rathod) and near 1400 meters LONE TROJAN (SS Baria) shifted out to avoid clipping the hind heels of ETERNAL FLIGHT (AR Mani) and in the process went across MUSICAL RHYTHM (Dashrath Singh). Jockey AR Mani has been fined Rs.1000/ for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

Snow Queen(O)Jockey Imran Chisty (SNOW QUEEN) and Suraj Naredu (CAUSTIC FINALE) have been fined Rs.1000/ each for using their whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
Caustic FinaleAfter the race CAUSTIC FINALE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks and until passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

6 (195) THE WHITE MISCHIEF CHALLENGE

Here Comes The DonAfter loading, HERE COMES THE DON reared up and stuck his fore leg on the front Gate and was also observed to have splayed its right fore plate, hence the gelding was withdrawn before coming under the Starters’ Order. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the gelding more Gate practice and show to the satisfaction of the Starter before next accepting to race.
RecardoAt the start, RECARDO (NG McCullagh) jumped out awkwardly towards the outside and MAJOR WAGER (R Shelar) jumped out awkwardly towards the inside and jostled with each other. Both the Jockeys have been asked to be more alert in the Gates.
Insite SoulNear 1000 meters, INSITE SOUL (Suraj Narredu) slowed down and shifted outwards due to which BELLA (YS Srinath) shifted out and forced WAHY (PS Chouhan) to shift out on to FORBES LIST (Neeraj Rawal) who in turn tightened PONYTA (CS Jodha). Since the incident was accidental, no action has been initiated against anyone.
Roger BcoolEXUBERANCE (F.Irani) hung out during the race and MAJOR WAGER (R Shelar) hungin in the straight. Trainers Mansoor Shah and SK Sunderji have been asked to take remedial measures with their respective charges before next accepting to race.
TearawayNear 900 meters, TEARAWAY (AJ Nilesh) shifted in and tightened MAJOR WAGER (R Shelar) and later on took the running of RECARDO (NG McCullagh) was checked. Jockey AJ Nilesh has been reprimanded for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

7 (196) THE B. K. RATTONSEY MEMORIAL MAIDEN MULTI-MILLION

Star CrownedSTAR CROWNED (YS Srinath) and SAN RAFAEL (Imran Chisty) were restless in their stalls. Trainers, Altaf Hussain and Faisal A Abbas, have been asked to give the respective charges more Gate practice and show to the satisfaction of the Starter before next accepting to race. At the start, STAR CROWNED (YS Srinath) jumped out awkwardly towards the inside and made contact with RIVER PRIDE (F Norton) whereby Jockey YS Srinath lost his balance momentarily. Jockeys Y.S.Srinath (STAR CROWNED) was observed to have used his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. The mater was reported to the Stewards who interviewed jockey YS Srinath and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him decided to fine him a sum of Rs.1000/ for using his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
EstevezESTEVEZ (Aadesh Kumar) hung out in the straight. Since the filly was going short, no action has been initiated in the matter. After the race, ESTEVEZ was found to be going short by the right fore leg and is not to race until passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. The filly was also found to have a wolf tooth on the left side of her mouth.
Super King (O)Soon after the start RIVER ROUTE (Daniel M Grant) shifted in despite Jockey’s effort and jostled with SUPER KING (SA De Sousa).

8 (197) THE MCDOWELL SIGNATURE INDIAN DERBY (G.1)
TERMS - 4 years old only		 2400M

AntoniosANTONIOS (SA De Sousa) hung out in the final stages. Trainer SS Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race.
Set AlightThe Stewards enquired into the running and riding of SET SLIGHT. The Stewards questioned Trainer Pesi Shroff and Jockey M Narredu. Trainer Shroff mentioned that he felt the jockey lost the race at the start itself when after a slightly slow jump, the jockey had a chance to settle her in middivision and she would have settled well, but instead niggled her which got her very keen and thereafter he was unable to settle her and coming into the straight found himself in front and the filly could not sustain her effort. Jockey M Narredu stated that the filly was very keen in the early stages and was running with her mouth open and he did not want to disappoint her and was unable to effectively settle her. Coming into the straight he took over the running as the front leaders were falling back and he did not wish not take a chance in getting hampered and had no choice but to take over. The Stewards pointed out that a jockey of his calibre, riding such a hot favourite in a big race showed poor judgment in riding her so much in front and then making her move far too early in the straight. It was pointed out that he lost a race that he should have won had he ridden filly as per her usual style. However, in view of his explanation and taking an overall view, the Stewards, by majority gave jockey M Narredu benefit of doubt for unsatisfactory riding and only levied a fine of Rs 10,000 for riding an injudicious race.
IcebreakerThe Stewards interviewed Jockey David Allan and decided to suspend his Jockey’s License w.e.f. 27th April 2009 to 2nd may 2009 (both days inclusive) for Careless Riding. (Permitted to ride work/ Mock race).
Dancing DynamiteWhile negotiating the first bend after the start, DANCING DYNAMITE (Harish) shifted in and hampered the running of RIYASAT (YS Srinath). Jockey Harish has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount. An Objection was lodged by Jockey Harish (DANCING DYNAMITE, placed 4th) against ICEBREAKER (David Allan) placed 3rd for shifting out and coming on to him in the last 150 meters and taking him out. After the considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided that to over rule the Objection. Jockey David Allan was asked to meet the Stewards after the last race.
AutonomyNear 700 meters, AUTONOMY (R Hughes) was tightened by ANTONIOS (SA De Sousa) who was hampered when VEERA WANG (Neeraj Rawal) lost its position.
Abs FabsAfter the race ABS FABS was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks and until passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
TelstarJockey Malcolm Kharadi (TELSTAR) reported that his saddle slipped back during the race. Trainer P.Shroff has been fined Rs.2000/ for faulty saddling of his charge.

9 (198) THE WHYTE & MACKAY CHALLENGE

Monarchos(O)The Sr. VO reported that Trainer Mansoor Shah had accepted with his charge MONARCHOS while the horse under a veterinary ban. The horse was not permitted to race and Trainer Mansoor Shah has been fined Rs.5000/ for his lapse.
Flaming ArrowAt the start, FLAMING ARROW (SA De Sousa) shifted in despite Jockey’s effort and went on to THE TEMPEST (Rajinder) who in turn shifted in and caused interference to ZEN (AJ Nilesh). Trainer CD Katrak has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race.
StefanoAfter the start, STEFANO (S Shiv Kumar) shifted in and went on to KATANIA (R Rupesh) who in turn took the running of UPROAR ( R Shelar), causing UPROAR to be checked by its Rider. Jockey S Shiv Kumar has been fined Rs.2000/ for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

10 (199) THE ISLE OF JURA CUP (DIV-I)

Desert Fire (O)On arrival at the Gates, DESERT FIRE was examined at the request of the Jockey and found to be sore by the right fore leg, hence the gelding was withdrawn on veterinary grounds before coming under the Starters’ Orders. The gelding has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
Highland QuestHIGHLAND QUEST (Daniel M Grant) played up in its stall. WHITE HART LANE (SA De Sousa) soon after the start veered sharply to the outside, dislodging its Rider. Trainer CD Katrak has been asked to show the gelding in a Mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter before next accepting to race.
