1 (117) THE DUBINUSHKA PLATE (DIV-I)

The TempestJockey M. Narredu (THE TEMPEST) reported that his mount stumbled at the start.
Easter LilyJockey Aadesh Kumar (EASTER LILY) reported that his mount was inclined to lug out in the final stages. As such, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
Rule Of Law (O)At the start. RULE OF LAW (App. D.S. Rathore) jumped out awkwardly towards the inside and due to shifting in went onto SHABDEEZ (R. Biramne) who went onto KIMAYA (App. Ishwar Pardeshi) who in turn went onto RAFTAAR (J.E.Pereira). Since the incident was accidental no action has been initiated against any jockey.
Blazing BeautyIn the final stages, LAST NIGHTS SONNET (A.M. Tograllu) shifted out and inconvenienced RULE OF LAW (App. D.S. Rathore) and then was inclined to lug in. Trainer M.K. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
ShabdeezTrainer Asad Siddiqui and Jockey R Biramne (SHABDEEZ) were reported to the Stewards as the Jockey was observed not to have persevered with his mount in the straight. The Stewards interviewed the Trainer and the Jockey and having heard the submissions made and viewing the video recording of the race, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by them. The Stewards found Jockey R.Biramne guilty of failing to persevere with his mount and Trainer Asad Siddiqui of unsatisfactory running of his charge. However, considering that this was the first run of the horse during the current Mumbai Meeting 2008/09 and the horse was at longer odds, the Stewards took a lenient view in the matter and decided : a)No suspend the Jockey’s License granted to Mr. R Biramne w.e.f. 30th March 2009 to 5th April 2009 (both days inclusive). (Permitted to ride work/ Mock race) and b) to fine Trainer Asad Siddiqui a sum of Rs.5000/. Further, both were warned for the future.
Anemos(OLD)ANEMOS (App.S.Zervan) and START ME UP (Hamir Singh) were slow into the stride, losing about 2 and 4 lengths respectively.

2 (118) THE AHMED I. RAHIMTOOLA TROPHY

DhrupadAt the request of Trainer Uday Bhan Singh, DHRUPAD was examined on 14/03/2009 at 1045 hours and was found to be sore by right fore leg. As such the colt was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before accepting to race.
Blue DanubeSoon after the start, BLUE DANUBE (N.G. McCullagh) shifted in and inconvenienced CRÈME DE LA CRÈME (Sunny Chinoy) who in turn went on to RIVER ROUTE (Daniel M.Grant) and traveling some distance further inconvenienced BATTLE FURY (S.S.Baria). Jockey N.G. McCullagh has been fined Rs.3000/ for failing to exercise proper control over his mount. After the race, BLUE DANUBE was observed to have an abrasion on both hind fetlocks.

3 (119) THE CURSETJEE DHUNJISHAW TROPHY

Rising HeroSoon after straightening, RISING HERO (SS Baria) was inconvenienced when NORA (David Allan) shifted in. Jockey David Allan has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.
Thundering HoovesTHUNDERING HOOVES (S.Sameer) was slow in the strides, losing about 5 lengths. Trainer C.D.Katrak has been asked to give the colt more Gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. After the race, THUNDERING HOOVES was found to be sore by the right hind leg. The colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

4 (120) THE Y.M. CHAUDHRY MEMORIAL TROPHY
TERMS - 3 year old maidens only

HarmonicaIn the final stages HARMONICA (David Allan) lugged in. Jockey David Allan was questioned by the Stewards with regard to his riding astride HARMONICA in the straight, although he had won the race. The Jockey explained that when he made his move from the outside near 400 metres, CABRIOLET (M.Narredu) shifted out and inconvenienced him and when he used the whip once the filly shifted in and he lost his reins while gathering the filly at that stage. Thereafter, the filly kept luggingin in the straight and was running green and therefore he had not used the whip again and had kept the filly on an even keel by riding her out hands and heels. Tr. Sanjay Kolse opined that the Jockey had fumbled with the reins a couple of times and could have been more vigorous in his riding effort in the final stages of the race. Having heard the Jockey and Trainer and having viewed the video recording of the race, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey David Allan. They also noted that there was a drift in the odds on HARMONICA. However, taking an overall view and keeping in mind that he had won the race, the Stewards decided to only caution him in this case. Further, he was warned to ride out his mounts to the best of his ability in the future.
Snow Queen(O)SNOW QUEEN (Imran Chisty) took a fly jump.
CabrioletCABRIOLET (M.Narredu) and CHANAKYA (F.Norton) were reluctant to be stalled. Trainers P Shroff and S.K. Sunderji have been asked to give their respective charges more Gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race. Passing 400 metres, CABRIOLET (M. Narredu) shifted out and inconvenienced HARMONICA (David Allan) who was forced to shift out.
Anastasia(O)In the final stages ANASTASIA (Malcolm Kharadi) ducked out and inconvenienced RED DRAGON (Y.S.Srinath). Since ANASTASIA (Malcolm Kharadi) was running green no action has been initiated against the jockey.

5 (121) THE WESTERN INDIA BOOKMAKERS ASSOCIATION TROPHY

Excellent StoryEXCELLENT STORY (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out in the final stages and inconvenienced DAFFODILS (M.Narredu). After the race, EXCELLENT STORY was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
DaffodilsApproaching the 400 metres, DAFFODILS (M. Narredu) was held up for a clear run for a brief period.
Raging StarAfter the race, RAGING STAR was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

The RisingSoon after the start, THE RISING (J.E. Pereira, dr.11) shifted in and at the same time AMBEROGIO (S.N. Chavan, dr.5) shifted out and hampered the running of ALGO MAS (Neeraj Rawal, dr.6). Jockeys J.E. Pereira and S.N. Chavan have been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over their respective mounts.
Bu AttifelBU ATTIFEL (Imran Chisty) stood awkwardly in its Stall. Trainer Faisal A Abbas has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice before next accepting to race.

7 (123) THE DR. S.C. JAIN SPRINTERS` CHAMPIONSHIP (GR. 2)
TERMS - 4 YEARS OLD & UPWARD

Aurora AurealisAURORA AUREALIS (M.Narredu) was placed fifth and KIARA (N.G.McCullagh) was placed sixth by the Judge.
Avec PlaisirJockey C. Rajendra (AVEC PLAISIR) reported loss of whip passing the 200 metres. Since the horse was out of contention and this being the first time the jockey reported loss of his whip this season, no action has been initiated against him beyond reminding him of the notice with regard to the loss of whip.
ElmwoodAt the start ELMWOOD (S.N. Chavan) stumbled on his own.

8 (124) THE C.N. WADIA GOLD CUP (GR. 2)
TERMS - 4 YEARS OLD & UPWARD

AngeliqueJockey Imran Chisty (ANGELIQUE) was observed to have used his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. No action was initiated against the Jockey since the horse was inclined to lugin in the straight and the whip was used as a corrective measure.
Noble PrinceSoon after the start, NOBLE PRINCE (David Allan) was steadied while racing between NITROUS (YS Srinath) on its outside and ANGELIQUE (Imran Chisty) on its inside.
MaseehaWhile negotiating the first bend, MASEEHA (Sunny Chinoy) was hampered while racing on the inside of ANGELIQUE (Imran Chisty).
NitrousAt the start, NITROUS (YS Srinath) jumped out awkwardly towards the inside and made contact with SOUTHERN CHARGE (Harish). The Jockey explained that he was not ready at the time of the start and had jumped out offbalance due to which he could not control his mount and had shifted in. NITROUS (Y.S.Srinath) was placed fifth and SOUTHERN CHARGE (Harish) was placed sixth by the Judge.
MaximiseMAXIMISE (M.Narredu) was reluctant to be stalled. SILVER TERN (C.S.Jodha) was slow in the strides losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainers L.V.R. Deshmukh and Subhag Singh have been asked to give their respective charges more Gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race.

9 (125) THE JAYARAMDAS PATEL GOLD TROPHY

Trainers, Vinayak, S.K.Sunderji and Magansingh P Jodha, have been asked to take remedial measures with their respective charges before next accepting with them to race.
ArgentinaAfter the race, ARGENTINA was found to have wolf tooth on both the sides of her mouth.

FascinationAfter passing 200 meters, FASCINATION (AM Tograllu) was observed to be racing in the middle of the Track and shifted in under use of the whip and inconvenienced SIOOUX CHIEF (Imran Chisty) along the rails. The matter was reported to the Stewards. The Stewards interviewed Jockey A.M.Tograllu and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, held the jockey guilty of Careless Riding on his mount and injudicious use of the whip and decided to suspend his Jockey’s License w.e.f. 30th March 2009 to 5th April 2009 (both days inclusive). (Permitted to ride work/ Mock race).
MysterioAt the start, MYSTERIO (App Shrikant Kamble, dr.8) shifted in and went on to SIOOUX CHIEF (Imran Chisty, dr.7) who in turn went on to KHUBSOORAT (CS Jodha, dr.6) and tightened the field on its inside, the horses to be affected were FASCINATION (AM Tograllu, dr.5), LADY TROOPER (App S Zervan, dr.3), BLACK PARTRIDGE (App NS Parmar, dr.2) and WINGS OF ANGEL (Malcolm Kharadi, dr.1). The incident was reported to the Stewards who after viewing the video recording of the race adjudged the incident as accidental, and as such no action was initiated against any Rider.
Black PartridgeAfter the race, BLACK PARTRIDGE was found to have wolf tooth on the right side of its mouth.
Roses All The WayAfter the race, ROSES ALL THE WAY was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
