CrrispTrainer Altamaash A.Ahmed and Jockey Shrikant Kamble were questioned regarding the poor performance of CRRISP. The Jockey said that his Instructions were to go to the front. He stated that his mount did not respond to his urgings and after the race he had informed the Trainer that his mount was sluggish while proceeding to the Gates. Trainer Altamaash A.Ahmed was informed that the odds on the gelding drifted and he had performed poorly. The Trainer stated that the Instructions were to go to the front and if he could not do so, then to be in 2nd position. He said that there was no common horse and that the gelding had no form coming into this race, hence he was surprised at the short odds though he did give the horse a chance to race well. He added that the gelding today raced over 1200 metres which was 400 metres shorter than in Race no 161 where the gelding had performed decently. He also cited the shorter time gap between today’s race and the previous race i.e. Race no 206 may be the reason for poor performance. He added that the horse has broken a blood vessel on previous occasions, which was also the reason for the Owners to have sold this horse. The Trainer opted for endoscopy for the gelding. On a request, the Sr. VO reported that CRRISP had returned sore by the left fore leg. Also, on Endoscopy, the horse was found to have bled internally (Gr.II EIPH).
