Favourites Shine Despite Odd Twists On Opening Day The Bangalore Summer Season opened on May 1 with seven races conducted right on schedule. Earlier rains in the preceding days had done just enough to ease what would have otherwise been an uncomfortably hard track, though conditions were still short of ideal. Fancied runners largely held sway, giving punters a welcome start to the season. Even so, a few results served as a gentle reminder that racing rarely sticks to the expected script.
