Tazahum at Sans Craintes Stud Farm in India

  August 29 , 2013

The Coimbatore based Sans Craintes Stud Farm has recently imported five year old Tazahum (Redoubte`s Choice – Huja) to stand as a stallion to boost is operations. Sans Craintes Stud Farm is a leading stud farm in South India and stands among others, Lucifer Sam (Storm Cat) and Lord Admiral (El Prado) as stallions. Their emerging stallion Mathematician (Machiavellian) was unfortunate to be struck by a lightening which killed him during this year`s covering season. Tazahum has just reached the stud farm after spending a month in quarantine.

By Australia`s leading sire, but born to Northern Hemisphere time in Kentucky, he had 13 starts in his career with four wins to his credit including the Listed Heron Stakes and earned a rating of117. Trained by Sir Michael Stoute, the last win of Tazahum came under Paul Hanagan at New Market last August. Tazahum enjoyed a rating of 117. He is out of the Alzao mare Huja, who is a full-sister to the dual Gr.2 Hardwicke Stakes winner Maraahel. Tazahum is the winner of Listed Stakes for three year olds.

Bloodstock agent Guarav Rampal who did the deal on behalf of Mr. S Pathy, industrialist and owner of Sans Craintes Stud Farm, said: ``I suggested Tazahum to Mr Pathy based on the high rating enjoyed by the five year old and the distances that he had run which were ideally suited for Indian racing which caters mostly to sprinter milers. Tazahum was also a precocious horse. The Aga Khan Stud Farm stood Redoubte`s Choice, the sire of Tazahum in France and covered some top mares with him. Tazahum is a good looking horse and he has acted in good to firm conditions which are prevalent in most racing centers in India. I have great respect for Australian breeding though the preference in India all along has been to get a stallion from Europe or USA. I was also responsible for the import of Kingda Ka (Danehill) which is currently standing at Nanoli Stud farm.``
