Be Safe ventures into the unknown
Be Safe ventures into the unknown The last decade has seen just one strong favourite win the Indian Derby. Jacqueline held off a spirited challenge of Becket to land the rich prize. Other than Jacqueline, there have been a series of high profile failures starting from Mystical, Southern Empire, Set Alight and Murioi. Be Safe is considered a certainty though in racing we have learnt to expect the unexpected with unerring regularity.
The importance of winning the Indian Derby
There is a special charm and appeal that Indian Derby has for everyone associated with the sport. Winning the Indian Derby gives the thrill of creative effort. Every racing centre has its own Derby but nothing matches the glamour, glitz and the enchantment of Indian Derby. For every race horse owner and professional, winning Indian Derby is like conquering the Everest. Indian Derby is the mother of all Derbys.
Speed Six pulverizes the opposition
Padmanabhan trained Speed Six pulverized the opposition to win the Gr 3 Sprinters Trial Stakes, the feature event for second year running on Friday. The progeny of Burden of Proof who was back in his comfort zone of a six furlong trip, led the field from the start and skipped away from the rest in the final furlong to record an impressive win.
