Financial pressures and government regulations have exposed its vulnerabilities, but the gravest threat lies within. Weak governance, conflicts of interest, shrinking public visibility and race clubs drifting away from their core purpose have steadily eroded the sport`s credibility. Unless administrators embrace transparency, professionalism and a renewed commitment to racing over prestige, the sport risks fading into irrelevance while its clubhouses continue to flourish.

Verdict Stands. Questions Remain.
The Stewards` decision to let the placings stand in last week’s Bangalore may have brought the race to an official close, but it has done little to end the debate. Instead, the enquiry has thrown up a series of uncomfortable questions, particularly after the jockey`s own admission that his mount could have won but for the interference. A week later, the verdict remains unchanged, yet the doubts surrounding the episode continue to linger.
