| | SEASMOKE and VIVALDI were slow to begin losing approximately 2 – 3 lengths each at the start. Jockey Mukesh Kumar (HERMOD) when questioned regarding the riding instructions on his mount, stated that he was instructed to place his mount in 2nd/3rd position after jump out, settle down well with the field and to do his best. The Jockey further stated that the gelding was running too keenly upto the 600 metres as such he could not settle down as instructed and on entering the straight his mount had nothing much left to offer, was noted. Post race endoscopy of HERMOD revealed that the gelding suffered from EIPH Gr III. Tr. Rutherford Alford was advised not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer. The Veterinary Officer reported that DRAGON’S GOLD and SEASMOKE returned bleeding from their nostrils. Trs. Shafiq Khan and B Rajender Reddy were advised not to accept with their respective charges until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer. |
