| no show at all.Incidents: Trainer Altamaash Ahmed and Jockey A.Sandesh were questioned regarding the poor performance of ASTAPI. The Jockey stated that he was instructed to be in 5th or 6th position and do his best. The Jockey added that the gelding was a bit slow out of the Gates and he had tucked him behind horses and during the race his mount had clipped the hind heels of BERLUSCONI on a few occasions and thereafter lost interest in the race and when he asked for an effort, the gelding did not respond. The Trainer stated that the gelding has lost condition after running the Indian St Leger, and was not looking good in the Paddock. When asked whether the use of Tongue Strap had a bearing on the performance, he replied in the negative and added that he uses the Tongue Strap in work and on an advise from his Work Rider he has used it in the race. The explanation was noted. |
