| 6th till 1200, then 5th till turn, improved and shot past the leader at 100 for a tremendous victoryIncidents: Trainer Nirad Karanjawala was questioned regarding the comparative performance of his charge VIXEN in this race which the filly won as compared to all her previous runs during the current Pune Meeting. The Trainer stated that he tried the filly over a longer trip in her previous start in Race No.169 where she had run suggestively, and therefore, in today’s race he gave her a chance as this was a weaker set of horses. He said that during the Mumbai Meeting also the filly had performed well over 1400 metres. He added that he had run the filly over sprint distances in her first three runs, since the filly had won a 1000 metres race and also, he relied on the feedback from the Jockeys who worked her. The explanation was noted. |
