| 2nd till 1800 then 3rfd till turn, shot ahead entering straight, stole a march, found her reserves drying up in the last 100 and ws finally conquered in the pinnacle of her career.Incidents: The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of SET SLIGHT. The Stewards questioned Trainer Pesi Shroff and Jockey M Narredu. Trainer Shroff mentioned that he felt the jockey lost the race at the start itself when after a slightly slow jump, the jockey had a chance to settle her in middivision and she would have settled well, but instead niggled her which got her very keen and thereafter he was unable to settle her and coming into the straight found himself in front and the filly could not sustain her effort. Jockey M Narredu stated that the filly was very keen in the early stages and was running with her mouth open and he did not want to disappoint her and was unable to effectively settle her. Coming into the straight he took over the running as the front leaders were falling back and he did not wish not take a chance in getting hampered and had no choice but to take over. The Stewards pointed out that a jockey of his calibre, riding such a hot favourite in a big race showed poor judgment in riding her so much in front and then making her move far too early in the straight. It was pointed out that he lost a race that he should have won had he ridden filly as per her usual style. However, in view of his explanation and taking an overall view, the Stewards, by majority gave jockey M Narredu benefit of doubt for unsatisfactory riding and only levied a fine of Rs 10,000 for riding an injudicious race. |

Jockey Harish has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount. An Objection was lodged by Jockey Harish (DANCING DYNAMITE, placed 4th) against ICEBREAKER (David Allan) placed 3rd for shifting out and coming on to him in the last 150 meters and taking him out. After the considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided that to over rule the Objection. Jockey David Allan was asked to meet the Stewards after the last race. |
